The StuH 42 (rails) miniature represents the Sturmhaubitze 42 equipped with side rails for mounting Schürzen armor plates. Built on the StuG III chassis, this self-propelled gun featured a 105mm howitzer for infantry support, excelling in destroying fortified positions and enemy troops. The addition of rails allowed for extra protection against anti-tank rifles and shaped charges, enhancing its battlefield survivability. Despite its primary role in fire support, it retained some anti-armor capability, making it a versatile vehicle in late-war engagements.
