M992A2 (open) miniature, representing the modernized American Field Artillery Ammunition Support Vehicle (FAASV) in its open configuration. Based on the chassis of the M109 self-propelled howitzer, the M992A2 was upgraded with an improved engine, enhanced armor protection, and updated internal systems to increase efficiency and survivability. Designed to carry and transfer large amounts of artillery ammunition, it uses conveyor systems to quickly resupply M109 batteries in the field. The open version highlights its exposed top hatches and storage layout, showing the internal arrangement for shells and supplies. Still in service today, the M992A2 remains a vital support vehicle for U.S. and NATO artillery units. This model is an excellent choice for Cold War–through-modern dioramas, wargaming scenery, or contemporary military vehicle collections in multiple scales.
