BTR-40A miniature, representing the Soviet armored personnel carrier modified with anti-aircraft armament. Based on the standard BTR-40 chassis introduced in the early 1950s, the BTR-40A replaced the open troop compartment with twin 14.5 mm KPV heavy machine guns mounted in a rotating ZPU-2 anti-aircraft system. Designed to provide mobile air defense for motorized units, it offered strong firepower against low-flying aircraft as well as ground targets. Though lightly armored, the BTR-40A combined mobility and versatility, serving with Soviet and Warsaw Pact forces during the Cold War. This distinctive vehicle is an excellent choice for Cold War–era dioramas, wargaming scenery, or military model collections in multiple scales.
