BTR-40 (covered) miniature, representing the Soviet 4×4 armored personnel carrier fitted with a canvas cover over its open troop compartment. Introduced in the early 1950s and based on the GAZ-63 truck chassis, the BTR-40 was the first postwar Soviet APC, designed to transport up to eight infantry while providing protection against small arms fire and shrapnel. The covered version offered additional shielding from weather and debris, making it more practical for extended operations. Widely used by the Soviet Army, Warsaw Pact allies, and numerous export customers, this model is a great choice for Cold War–era dioramas, wargaming scenery, or historical vehicle collections in multiple scales.
