This kit is very nice once finished. It does require a little patience to get together but over all a great kit. I'm currently waiting on decals.

The lcvp should hold a Sherman tank. It is too narrow to do this any suggestions?

Miniature Tanks Company

The LCVP is the famous Higgins Boat, and it was mainly designed to bring infantry, supplies, and small vehicles from ship to shore. It could carry troops or smaller vehicles like a jeep, but not a Sherman tank.

So the narrow size is correct for this type of landing craft. A Sherman would require a larger landing craft, such as an LCM, which was the bigger Higgins-designed landing craft made to carry tanks.

Unfortunately, the Sherman will not fit inside the LCVP Higgins Boat, but the model is accurate for its intended use with troops, cargo, or smaller vehicles.

For reference: the Higgins Boat/LCVP had a capacity of about 36 troops, a jeep, or around 8,000 lb of cargo, while the LCM was the wider landing craft capable of carrying a Sherman tank.
