This version of the Chevrolet 1543 3-ton General Service truck features a simple open cargo bed with structural support bars, commonly used to hold canvas covers or for securing loads. As part of the Canadian Military Pattern (CMP) series, it maintained the rugged, all-terrain reliability needed for World War II operations. This configuration was especially useful for flexible transport duties where rapid loading and unloading were a priority, or where the canvas tilt was removed for ventilation or visibility. It saw widespread use with British and Commonwealth forces across Europe, Africa, and Asia.
