BTR-40A (spare tire) miniature, depicting the Soviet armored personnel carrier in its anti-aircraft configuration, fitted with an externally mounted spare wheel. Based on the standard BTR-40 chassis, the BTR-40A replaced the troop compartment with twin 14.5 mm KPV heavy machine guns in a rotating ZPU-2 mount, providing mobile air defense and heavy fire support. The addition of the spare tire reflects the practical field adaptations commonly seen in service. Lightly armored but mobile and versatile, it served with Soviet and Warsaw Pact forces during the Cold War. This model is ideal for Cold War–era dioramas, wargaming scenery, or historical vehicle collections in multiple scales.
