BTR-40 (spare tire) miniature, representing the Soviet 4×4 armored personnel carrier equipped with an externally mounted spare wheel. Introduced in the early 1950s and based on the GAZ-63 truck chassis, the BTR-40 was the first postwar Soviet APC, designed to carry up to eight soldiers while providing protection against small arms fire and shrapnel. The spare tire variant highlights a practical field detail commonly seen in service, reflecting the vehicle’s rugged and adaptable design.
