The boat used in The African Queen was originally built in 1912 in England as a steam-powered vessel named Livingstone for use in the Belgian Congo. It served as a cargo and passenger transport on African rivers before gaining fame in the 1951 film. After the movie, it was brought to the United States, restored, and is now preserved in Key Largo, Florida, where it operates as a historic attraction.
